Transferring Scouts

This section applies to:
- Existing Cub Scouts (5th grade) who want to cross over into Troop 54
- Existing Scouts from a different Scouts BSA troop who want to transfer into Troop 54
Transfers are best initiated by the unit they are leaving. One of the Key 3 leaders of the leaving unit can initiate the transfer.
Step 1. Follow these Scoutbook instructions for an “in-council transfer initiated by the unit they are leaving.”
Step 2. When the transfer is completed online, alert the Troop 54 Committee Chair by emailing tcc@troop54houston.org to accept the transfer.
Transferring Adults
This section applies to:
- Registered adult leaders in a Cub Scout pack or Scouts BSA troop who want to transfer or multiple position into Troop 54
Step 1. Follow instructions to complete a Scouts BSA application (Adult) for Troop 54. Login with your My.Scouting.org account. Make sure that you enter your BSA Member ID and first and last name exactly as your existing profile. The system will detect that you already are already registered with Scouting America and will not charge you another national fee. This will “multiple position” you into Troop 54.
Step 2. When you have completed the application online, alert the Troop 54 Committee Chair by emailing tcc@troop54houston.org. to accept the application.
Step 3. To end membership in the unit you left (pack or other troop), login to My.Scouting.org > Profile > Membership and click the button “Opt Out of Renewing” next to the unit number that you are leaving. This will allow your membership to expire before the next renewal cycle.
