There are over 30 Scouts BSA girl troops in the Houston area. Why choose Troop 54?
Leadership & Adventure: As the largest girl troop in Sam Houston Area Council, we offer girls more leadership opportunities and outdoor experiences than any other troop. In additional to 7-8 weekend campouts during the school year, we offer 5-6 summer camps annually, spanning merit badge camps, mid-adventure, high-adventure and international summer camps.
Legacy of Support: Our chartered organization, St. John the Divine, has supported its Scouting programs for almost 100 years and continues to be a strong partner.
Girl-Led, Girl-Powered: We share gear with Troop 55 (boy troop) but operate independently with our own meetings, youth leadership, and adult leaders.
Cross-Programming: Our girls can easily supplement their Scouting journey by becoming a Venturer in Crew 55, which is focused on mid-and-high adventure experiences. We also offer a one-stop shop for Scouting families through St. John the Divine’s other programs, Pack 55 for elementary-aged children and Troop 55 for middle school and high school aged boys.
